The Essential Facts of Backgammon Game Plans – Part One
by Caden on July 6th, 2021
The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your pieces around the game board and bear them off the board faster than your competitor who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your chips is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing plans. Enthusiasts use different strategies in the differing stages of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to lure all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the pace of advancing your pieces with no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor’s pieces. The best time to use this tactic is when you believe you might be able to shift your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The primary goal of the blocking technique, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you’ve created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can move your other checkers swiftly off the game board. You will need to also have a good plan when to withdraw and move the chips that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking tactic.
