The Essential Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part 2

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to completely block any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get bumped, or result a battered position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point two and point 11 in your board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of your competitor, your competitor does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game plan relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
